On-device data handling
The Health Data Privacy Policy is our published policy. This page explains the current technical behavior of Health Data, the on-device health-data explorer from 37°N. Its storage and sharing practices differ from other 37°N apps: Health Data has no cloud health-data storage, shared account database, analytics or crash-reporting service.
No account or email required
Health Data is free to use and opens directly into the explorer. There is no sign-in, account, email capture, subscription or runtime cloud service. The app works offline. Terms and privacy links are at the bottom of the app’s home screen, without a signup step.
Version 0.13.0 removes Google sign-in. On upgrade, the app deletes its previously saved local email, account identifier and consent record without reading or uploading them. Cleanup retries on a later launch or resume if secure storage is temporarily unavailable. Within the same app ID, health permissions and pinned metrics are preserved. The 1.0.0 store app uses a new ID and starts with fresh settings and permissions; Apple Health and Health Connect records are unaffected. A Google connection authorized with an older version can also be removed in your Google Account settings.
Health records stay on your device
You choose which Apple Health or Health Connect categories Health Data may read. The app uses permitted records to display measurements, plots, source apps and available device metadata. Measurement values and native record details are held in app memory while you explore them. Health Data does not write or delete records in Apple Health or Health Connect.
Health Data reads only while it’s open and keeps no history of its checks. On your phone it saves only its settings: which metrics you pinned and whether you connected health data. It is excluded from operating-system backup. Versions up to 0.14 offered optional background monitoring and a local check journal; updating cancels any scheduled checks and deletes that journal.
Health Data does not upload health records or its settings. It does not use them for advertising, research, AI processing or cloud analytics. Any syncing performed by Apple, Google, your wearable or another source app is controlled by that provider and your settings there.
CSV exports are your choice
When you choose Export records, Health Data creates a CSV of the currently loaded records and read receipts. The CSV can contain sensitive health measurements and device/source details. You choose the destination using the phone’s file picker. Selecting a cloud drive or later sharing the file sends a copy to that destination under your control. Health Data does not upload it automatically. On iPhone, a protected temporary export file is removed when the picker finishes.
Your controls
- Review or revoke health permissions in Apple Health or Health Connect.
- Delete exported files from the destinations where you saved them.
- Uninstall Health Data to remove its settings from your phone.
This public website
This site serves static product and policy pages through Google Firebase Hosting. It has no account form, health-data upload, analytics scripts or advertising trackers. The hosting provider processes normal connection information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site. Opening these pages does not send your app’s health records.
Feedback & Support
The lightbulb opens an optional feedback form. It passes only your typed message to your email app, where you can review and send it to support. Your email app uses your chosen sender address. Health records and diagnostic reports are never automatically attached. You can separately review and copy a local support report if you choose to share it.
